I will Never Forgive! Even God will understand.

Brother…Sister… calm down! Let me explain something to you.

The people who occupied this earth 150 years ago, and I mean all over the earth in Africa, Antartica, Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Australia, are no more. Non of them are alive. They are all dead.

What does this suggest to you? No matter how long you live, you will pass one day. Now when you do pass at old age, you are either going to heaven or hell. Those are the only two locations in eternity. Do not be deceived, there is no in-between but let’s focus on hell today.

What is hell? Eternal damnation, emphasis on “eternal”. This means that it will never end. Endless agony. You cannot imagine it, so don’t bother trying. My point is, if this person or group of people caused you so much pain on earth, are they worth going to hell for? Think about it. The truth is, God will never bring down his standard to accommodate your weaknesses, it is you that needs to step up!

Now think about what they did to you… is it in the past or not? If it’s already in the past, why are you still holding on to it? It is time to let go! Nobody is worth going to hell for, especially considering that Jesus died so that you may live. Heaven is the goal!

You may wonder, how do I go about forgiving? The first step is Prayer! Say a prayer and release them from the bottom of your heart. God sees your heart and the sincerity of your decisions. He can help you in the most difficult times but you need to approach Him for help.

To introduce the next step, I’ll share my story.

Someone did something very painful to me. You know when emotional pain translates to physical pain where you can actually feel your chest hurt? Yes, that’s how painful it was. Then I prayed to God and forgave but I struggled with forgetting. I then went back to God to help me wipe my memory of that occurrence. At least, if I never remember then we are good.

I remember the Holy Spirit telling me there is no such thing as wiping my memory. He said forgetting does not mean that you will never remember, but that whenever you do remember the occurrence, you do not feel the pain you felt when it happened. So you remember the occurrence but feel no pain anymore. At that point, you are healed and free! It’s similar to a scar, once the wound is healed, you will still see the mark but the pain is gone. You can laugh about it and even encourage others through it. But if you remember the occurrence 5 years after for example, and still feel the same pain you felt on the day it happened and still cry about it, then you have not forgiven, neither have you let go nor healed. Therefore, there is work to be done.

The second point however is “letting go”. Let go of the anger, your pride, ego and every other thing hindering you from forgiving. Stop blaming anyone for the outcome of your life because you still have time to change your story for the best. This is not the end of you, this is only the beginning and it is a “new” exciting beginning.

Ask God for help right now.

Say this prayer:

“Father I receive the grace to forgive and to let go. I recognise that I cannot do this myself, please help me Lord“

Matthew 6:12 KJV

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
