Daniel 1:3-4 NKJV
[3] Then the king instructed Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, to bring some of the children of Israel and some of the king’s descendants and some of the nobles, [4] young men in whom there was no blemish, but good-looking, gifted in all wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to understand, who had ability to serve in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the language and literature of the Chaldeans.
Knowing the unique abilities and characteristics of these people, King Nebuchadnezzar ordered Ashpenaz(chief of staff) to pick certain men with specific qualities to join his workforce. The qualities include: Young men without blemish, skillful in all wisdom, endowed with intelligence and discernment, quick understanding, competent to stand in the presence of the king. Now what is the revelation from this?
GOD wants your best in His service. Many times, when we work in church or do anything for God, it is usually a quarter of our best. We mostly do it like charity, meaning anything goes. We sometimes give our best at our jobs and then give God the rest. From these scriptures, we can see that there are requirements to stand in the presence of the king. Your very best must be utilized in the service of the king.
Furthermore, the king ordered Ashpenaz to teach them the language and literature of the Chaldeans. The king then assigned a daily ration to them from his finest food and from the wine which he drank. Again, what is the revelation in this?
There is the language and literature of the Kingdom of God. To enter into the fullness of Christ, you must learn the literature and the language. The literature is the Holy Bible, the language is learning to speak Christ both in tongues and in understanding. These are requirements to enter into the King’s service.
In addition, there is a daily ration that needs to be fulfilled. Which means you must eat of the Word of God daily and drink from the wells of salvation by praying daily. These are your daily rations. This is the reason you must observe your daily devotion with utmost consecration and priority.
I have only highlighted the first 5 verses of Daniel Chapter 1. Read the rest of the chapter and kindly share your revelations with us in the comment section. We are eagerly waiting to be blessed by them.
